St. John’s Episcopal School
participated in the International Day of Peace Celebration
Pinwheels for Peace! program sponsored by the United
Nations. Our
students joined with millions of others throughout the world
as they made pinwheels with words of peace and harmony that
spun in the wind across school campuses throughout the
Oklahoma City area and countries around the world on Sunday,
September 21, 2008.
Everyone from Preschool up to 8th
grade carried their hand-made pinwheels out on our campus
for our version of WHIRLED PEACE!
Our pinwheels were on display outside the CVS Drug
and Pharmacy on the corner of 50th and May,
Sunday September 21, 2008.
Myriad Gardens was the setting for the International
Day of Peace Celebration with many great speakers and
performers from 3-5:00 p.m. on that day.
